Caring For Your Hair With Kerastase

Caring For Your Hair With Kerastase

There was a time when my hair was quite literally my crowning glory. I would spend hours browsing hair tutorials on Youtube and creating elaborate hairstyles in my bedroom, learning how to french braid and use curling wands. It wasn’t for a special occasion or anything in particular, I’d literally be going to school so I guess it was a bit of a hobby. I don’t remember having a special haircare routine but I know I would wash it religiously every other day. It definitely needed it because I used so much hairspray to hold my masterpieces in place.

But somewhere between then and now I’ve fallen off the wagon. On the odd occasion I might braid my hair or straighten it but these days you’ll usually find it scrunched up at the top of my head where it will stay there until the next time I wash it. It’s fair to say I neglect my locks most of the time but recently I decided that has to change!

I wanted to get back to the old days of enjoying doing my hair. I’m blessed with naturally very straight hair but I felt it looked dull and boring. I also hate having my hair in my eyes which explains why I’m more prone to tie it up. So the first step for me was to get back into the habit of a haircare routine and bring some life back to my hair. That’s where Kerastase came in. Almost as if they’d read my mind they kindly reached out to me and sent me a shampoo, condition and hair mask to try. At first I put off trying the products, mainly because the thought of doing a hair mask and how much extra time that might take seemed like a pain (I like to wash and dry my hair in the shortest time possible!). But now it’s actually my favourite part. So the Elixir Ultime shampoo contains a mix of different oils, including Argan Oil which makes my hair feel silky and clean. It doesn’t weigh down my hair which I didn’t want, it still felt light and soft to the touch. The Elixir Ultime conditioner accompanies the shampoo, containing the same mix of oils but this time hydrates each strand, giving my hair an extra sheen. Finally my favourite part is the Masque Elixir Ultime which is a hair mask for dull hair, so perfect for me. Again it compliments the shampoo and conditioner but it also has golden flecks infused for healthy looking hair.

How To Use

Step 1: Apply shampoo to wet hair and massage into scalp and lengths of hair gently.

Step 2: Repeat Step 1 and rinse hair thoroughly.

Step 3: Squeeze excess water from hair and apply conditioner. Leave in for 2-3 minutes before washing out.

Step 4: Rinse hair thoroughly and towel dry. Apply masque evenly to lengths and ends of the hair and leave in for 5 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse hair and dry as normal.

I’ve used these three products for a few weeks now and I can really see the different in my hair. It doesn’t look dull and flat, it has plenty of movement and doesn’t become tangled so easily. In terms of the time I spend washing my hair, it’s probably added an extra 10 minutes on but once my hair is washed and dried I can leave it down for a few days without touching it. So overall it has saved me time and has meant that washing my hair is no longer a chore!
