Rodial Review

This month I received some Rodial goodies in my Love Me Beauty beautybox. I’ve tried a couple of their makeup products before which I love, especially their Glambrow pencil, however I had never tried any of their skin care but I had high hopes. With names like Pink Diamond Lifting Face Mask (which contains real diamond powder!) and the Dragon’s Blood collection I couldn’t wait to see what they were like.

Super Acids X-Treme After-Party Scrub

I wasn’t expecting anything special from this exfoliator, I thought it would be just like any other. And my first impression was that it was no different to other brands I have used. That was until I found my skin was still soft and smooth a couple of hours later. After exfoliating I find my skin dries out quite quickly and I need to moisturise regularly. This exfoliator contains Vitamin E which is probably why it leaves your skin fresh and moisturised for longer than most others.

Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Collection

I was excited to try the Dragon’s Blood mask and moisturiser, and it was probably the two products that intrigued me the most. What I liked about the moisturiser was that it didn’t leave my face feeling or looking greasy. It had a kind of matte feel to it which is good for me as I have combination skin. As for the plumping effect the product promises, I’m not so sure. I didn’t visibly notice my skin appearing more plump but perhaps it didn’t need it?! I felt the same about the mask but they are still really nice products and might work better on more mature skin.

Instaglam Compact Contouring Powder and Sculpting Brush

I’ve talked about the importance of good makeup brushes in my Zoeva post and this sculpting brush does not disappoint. It is super soft and really easy to clean. Plus I love matte black brushes! The contouring powder is really finely milled so takes a bit of building up if you want a really defined look. But it is perfect for everyday use to give your face dimension and the compact is handy to carry in your handbag.
